The second quarter of 2023 saw interesting trends in the performance of the top five food delivery service apps on the Android platform in the United Arab Emirates. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, reveals noteworthy patterns in weekly downloads and active users.

talabat: Food, grocery & more demonstrated steady performance throughout Q2. Weekly downloads fluctuated slightly but increased overall, starting at around 10K in late March and peaking at approximately 13.7K by the end of June. Active users also showed a positive trend, rising from around 235K in late March to about 270K by the end of June.

Smiles UAE experienced significant variations in weekly downloads. Downloads spiked notably in late May, reaching around 18.4K, before stabilizing to approximately 6.2K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar pattern, peaking at about 50.6K in late May and then declining to around 35K by the end of the quarter.

NowNow by noon: Grocery & more saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting from about 4K in late March and reaching approximately 4.9K by the end of June. Weekly active users also increased, rising from around 8.9K in late March to about 10K by the end of the quarter.

Deliveroo: Food & Shopping had relatively stable weekly downloads, with a slight peak of around 3.7K in mid-June. Active users remained consistent, fluctuating around 33K to 36K throughout the quarter.

InstaShop: Grocery Delivery maintained a steady download rate, with a slight increase in early May reaching about 2.7K, before dropping to around 1.2K by the end of June.
